26 July 2010: Land Claims Collection reaches 18907 claims in 10 Districts

DNTPSC and Ita Nia Rai programme has now collected 18907 land claims in 10 districts of Timor-Leste: Aileu, Baucau, Bobonaro, Liquiça, Manatuto, Oecusse, Dili, Lautem, Ainaro and Covalima.

14 June 2010: DNTPSC launched Last Public Display in Capital District Liquiça

On the 14 June 2010, National Directorate of Land Property and Cadastral Services (DNTPSC), undertook the last public display of maps containing data from land claimants in Capital District Liquiça.
The area for the public display are, District Liquiça, sub district Bazartete, Suco Maumeta, Aldeia Nartutu and Daramudapu, also for Suco Lauhata, Aldeia Camalehou, Pissu Lete and Pissu Craic. The Public Display will run until 26 July 2010.[.pdf 164KB]

10 May 2010: DNTPSC launched Last Public Display in Capital District Aileu

On the 10 of May 2010, National Directorate of Land Property and Cadastral Services (DNTPSC), undertook the last public display of maps containing data from land claimants in Capital District Aileu [.pdf 192KB]

23 March 2010: DNTPSC Undertook another Public Display in Capital District Baucau

On the 23rd March 2010, Government of Timor-Leste, through National Directorate of Land Property and Cadastral Services (DNTPSC), undertook the public display of maps containing data from land claimants in Baucau District.

Eng. Jaime Xavier Lopes, DNTPSC Director stated that “The objective of public display maps is to guarantee the transparency of the land claims process. During the public display period, land claimants will verify and correct the collected data presented in those maps. It is also possible to submit a counterclaim for land parcels already claimed by other parties. Therefore, DTPSC District Directors will ask the participation of the communities to verify the displayed data. The public display period is only for 30 working days, after that period it will not be possible to submit new land data.”[.pdf 172KB]

11 March 2010: DNTPSC Launched Public Display in Capital District of Bobonaro, Oecusse and Aileu

DNTPSC, launched public display in Capital District of Bobonaro, Oecusse and Aileu.

Mr. Jaime Xavier Lopes, Director of DNTPSC said “The objective of publication is to insure transparency on land owner declaration process. During the public display, people can go to verify their data, if it has mistakes data, can fix it. Also can make reclamation to the person who made claims on other people’s land owner.
I advise to land owners in those area to participate in this publication. Duration for public display is 30 days. Read more [.pdf 180KB]

24 February 2010: DNTPSC Launched Public Display in Pilot Area Manatuto and Liquica

DNTPSC launched public display in capital district of Manatuto and Liquica.
Mr. Antonio Verdial de Sousa, Director of DNTPSC called land owner in those area to go to see their data in the map publication to verify and approved their data. If they find some mistake data they can fix it, also they can make claims to the person who claims on other people’s land owner. Read more [.pdf 208KB]

11 January 2010: DNTPSC Established a Mediation Working Group, to Support Landa Data Collection Process in Dili

In January 2010, DNTPSC and Ita Nia Rai Project that are supported by USAID, established a mediation working group to support land dispute resolution in Dili. Mr. Antonio Verdial, Dorector of DNTPSC said "the objective of the working group are to support information on land data collection process, to prevent conflict and facilitate land dispute resolution beetwen community in Dili. 29 December 2009: Director of DNTPSC Called Land Owners in Timor-Leste to Participate in Land Data Collection Process.

Today, 29 December 2009, Director of DNTPSC called land owner in Capital Districts to participate in land data collection process that  are run by Ita Nia Rai Program. Director of DNTPSC, Antonio Verdial de Sousa said “that since 2008 DNTPSC work together with the Ita Nia Rai program and started land data collection process in 7 Capital Districts in Timor-Leste.  In 2010 the land data collection process will be expanded to other District Capitals in Timor Leste. 3 December 2009: Land data collection process closed in Capital District Manatuto.

Direcção Nacional de Terras, Propriedades e Serviços Cadastrais (DNTPSC) and Ita Nia Rai project funded by USAID, closed land data collection process in Capital District Manatuto. Manatuto District was one of the pilot area for Ita Nia Rai program where procedures for data collection were tested in Timor-Leste. The pilor process in Manatuto district has started on the 17 November 2008. This process has finished by the 30 November 2009.
